Mike Grimes and Dave Brown, the folks behind The Basement East, have officially opened a brand new venue in East Nashville that promises pre-concert fun and general neighborhood togetherness called ‘Lowbar’.
The venue opened their doors back on October 11th at 917C Woodland St. and the name is a reference to Slow Bar, their former Five Points bar that was eventually the home of 3 Crow Bar and is now Buds and Brews and was a major catalyst for the evolution of the East Nashville and Nashville music scene in the early 2000s.
The Lowbar is being billed as “East Nashville’s only locally owned underground hang” and will offer drinking and eating on-site before patrons take in a shows/concerts at The Basement East and a place to chill afterwards.
Lowbar will be open Sunday through Wednesday 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. and Thursday through Saturday 5 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.
Lowbar will also be open as a neighborhood bar with good drinks, music and food-truck eats regardless if people are there for shows, or just looking for a place to hangout. and will also feature dancing, karaoke and the occasional post-show hangouts with the musicians who performed at The Basement East.
